In the early 1960s Hugh Hardy worked as an assistant to Jo Mielziner, the theatrical designer. Mr. Mielziner was collaborating with Eero Saarinen on the design of the Vivian Beaumont Theater for the new Lincoln Center, and part of Mr. Hardy’s job was to mediate between his boss and the great architect. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/04/theater/04theater.html
